Mogilev to host meeting of Belarus-Russia sister cities 30-31 March

MOGILEV, 20 March (BelTA) – The ninth meeting of the Belarusian and Russian sister cities will take place in Mogilev on 30-31 March, BelTA learnt from the Mogilev City Hall.

The parties will meet to discuss cooperation in economic, investment, culture, education and tourism areas. The oblast center will welcome nearly 150 representatives of the sister cities of the two countries. Belarus will be represented by mayors of all oblast centers. The Russian delegation will include representatives of Penza, Vologda, St. Petersburg, Omsk, Yekaterinburg and other cities. Attending the meeting will be President of the International Sister City Association, Moscow Oblast Governor Andrei Vorobyov, heads of the diplomatic missions of Belarus and Russia.

The program of the meeting will comprise sections and themed roundtable sessions. The meeting will be wrapped up with a plenary session featuring the Mogilev Oblast authorities.

The event will be held under the auspices of the Belarusian Public Organization Sister Cities. Founded in 1995, the organization makes part of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries.
