Belarus' harvest exceeds 7.5m tonnes of grain

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped more than 7.5 million tonnes of grain (including buckwheat and millet), BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 5 September, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 7.5 million tonnes. Minsk Oblast harvested 1,886.6 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1.348 tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1,231.4 tonnes. Mogilev Oblast and Gomel Oblast cropped 1,166.900 and 996,600 tonnes each. The harvest of Vitebsk Oblast reached 911,700 tonnes.

A total of 2,112,900 hectares, or 97.7%, of areas under crops have been harvested in the country. This year, the average yield makes up 35.7 centners per hectare, with Grodno Oblast leading with 42.7 centners per hectare.
