Belarus guarantees most favorable conditions for Chinese companies

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) Belarus guarantees the most favorable business conditions for Chinese companies, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with the delegation of the Peoples Government of Hunan Province (China) led by Changsha Mayor Hu Henghua and Zoomlion President Zhan Chunxin on 29 August, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko cited the manufacture of pilot samples of construction and municipal equipment of the Chinese company Zoomlion using NAZ chassis as an example of productive cooperation.

New Apostolic Nuncio arrives in Belarus

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) - New Apostolic Nuncio (Ambassador of the Vatican) Gabor Pinter arrived in Belarus, BelTA informs with reference to the website of the Roman Catholic Church.

At the airport the Apostolic Nuncio was welcomed by all members of the Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Belarus headed by its Chairman, Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.

Gabor Pinter said that he is very happy to arrive in Belarus.

Russia invited to use Belarus as springboard for food export to West

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) Russia could use Belarus as a springboard for exporting agricultural products to the West. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy made the statement as he met with Governor of Russias Bryansk Oblast Alexander Bogomaz on 11 August, BelTA has learned.

Speaking about Belarus cooperation with Bryansk Oblast in agribusiness, Mikhail Rusy noted that the relevant guidelines had been sketched out.

Belarus harvests 3 million tonnes of grain

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) As of 1 August Belarus has harvested more than 3 million tonnes of grain crops, the Agriculture and Food Ministry informed.

Minsk Oblast is the leader with 821,700 tonnes of grain so far. Gomel Oblast has harvested 676,400 tonnes, Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast 622,900 tonnes and 411,200 tonnes of grain respectively. Mogilev Oblast has harvested 381,500. Vitebsk Oblast has cropped 171,500 tonnes.

84 sets of nomination documents filed with election commissions in Belarus

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) Belarus Central Election Commission has received, according to the latest data, 84 sets of documents on the nomination of candidates to members of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the sixth convocation, reads a statement posted on the website of the Belarusian Central Election Commission, BelTA has learned.

Most sets of documents have been filed with the election commissions of Mogilev Oblast (22), the least - in Vitebsk Oblast (2).

Belarus Mogilev Oblast, Hungary intend to bolster economic ties

MOGILEV, 13 July (BelTA) Belarus Mogilev Oblast and Hungary intend to bolster economic ties. This agreement was reached during a meeting between Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Belarus Vilmos Sziklavari, BelTA has learned.

According to Vladimir Domanevsky, the dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between Mogilev Oblast and Hungary was positive in January-May: there was an increase in trade and exports.

Alexandriya gearing up for Kupala Night Festival

ALEKSANDRIA, 8 July (BelTA) - Alexandriya is ready to host the highest guests for Kupala Night festival (Alexandriya Gathers Friends). The event will be held in the agro-town Alexandriya, Shklov District on 9-10 July, Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Domanevsky said following the session to discuss the organizational issues on 7 July, BelTA has learned.

All services involved in the preparation of the festival did well.

Mogilev, Chinese Zhengzhou sign program of cooperation for 2016-2017

MOGILEV, 28 June (BelTA) - Mogilev and Chinese Zhengzhou signed a program of cooperation for 2016-2017. The document was signed by Chairman of the Mogilev City Hall Vladimir Tsumarev and Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Zhengzhou City Xue Yunwei, BelTA has learned.

According to Vladimir Tsumarev, this document will help raise a level of cooperation between the two cities which became sister cities two years ago.

Opinion: Innovations in economy modernization will give a competitive edge to Belarus

MOGILEV, 23 June (BelTA) Focus on innovations in modernizing the economy will give Belarus a competitive edge on the global market. The statement was made by Alla Bogatenko, Head of the Economy Office of the Mogilev City Executive Committee, as she commented on the speech Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made during the fifth Belarusian Peoples Congress on 22 June, BelTA has learned.

The Belarus president clearly outlined vectors for the perspective development of the economy such as modernization of the production sector by focusing on creating innovative, science-intensive, and competitive products.

Belarus to establish regional centers for economic growth

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) Centers for economic growth will be set up in the regions of Belarus. The decision is envisaged in Belarus draft social and development program for 2016-2020, which is to be discussed at the 5th Belarusian Peoples Congress, BelTA has learned.

Centers for economic growth will be established through the concentration of resources on the key areas, able to ensure maximal development of the territories, efficient use of the local resource potential and competitive advantages.
