Kobyakov, Medvedev to meet in Mogilev on 12 May

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) Mogilev will play host to a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State on 12 May, BelTA learned from spokesman for the Belarusian Prime Minister Vladislav Sychevich.

The meeting will be attended by Russia and Belarus Prime Ministers Dmitry Medvedev and Andrei Kobyakov.

The agenda of the meeting includes 27 issues. The main block is about trade and economic cooperation.

Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units to increase supplies to Yakutia

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) The Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units plans to increase its supplies to Russias Yakutia, BelTA learnt from the Industry Ministry of Belarus.

The Belarusian company launched its cooperation with Yakutia in 2015 when it shipped seven vehicles to the region. This year the Bobruisk plant has already delivered eight tractors to Yakutia. Ten more are to be shipped in the near future, representatives of the ministry said.

Belarus, Russia may discuss gas supply at Union State meeting in Mogilev

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) - The terms and conditions of Russian gas supply to Belarus may be discussed on the sidelines of the session of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Mogilev on 12 May, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told media after a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 26 April, BelTA has learned.

Gas supply issues are discussed separately, not in the framework of the Union State.

Pope Francis meets with Chernobyl clean-up workers from Belarus

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) - Pope Francis has met with Chernobyl clean-up workers from Belarus and Ukraine, BelTA learned from the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.

Out of 50 clean-up workers, eight people arrived in the Vatican from Belarus together with Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, the representative of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus said.

Pope Francis welcomed the pilgrims from Ukraine and Belarus who arrived to the Vatican within the framework of the international conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident.

Mogilev to host Interbasket 2016 tournament

MOGILEV, 12 April (BelTA) The Interbasket 2016 open tournament among teams of sister and partner cities will take place in Mogilev on 12-15 April, BelTA learnt from the Mogilev Department of Education, Sport and Tourism.

Partaking in the competitions will be teams from Mogilev, Vologda, Zvenigorod, Smolensk and Penza. Basketball players (born in 2001 and later) will compete for the main trophy of the tournament and also take part in a contest of foul shots and three-pointers.

Union State Council of Ministers to sit in Mogilev 12 May

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) A meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers will take place in Mogilev on 12 May, BelTA learnt from the website of the Union State Permanent Committee.

Members of the Council of Ministers of the Union State will hold their meeting in the Belarusian city of Mogilev on 12 May, the information on the website reads.


Plans to set up silicon valley in Mogilev unveiled

MOGILEV, 30 March (BelTA) Mogilev Oblasts first IT business incubator is supposed to be created in the oblast capital by the end of the year, BelTA learned from Viktor Krasovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, on 30 March.

The Mogilev Development Agency is in charge of implementing the project. The agency is now looking for suitable premises.

Mogilev Oblast, Russias Orel Oblast seek closer industrial ties

MOGILEV, 23 March (BelTA) Belarus Mogilev Oblast and Russias Orel Oblast are interested in deepening industrial cooperation, Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Domanevsky said as he met with a delegation of Orel Oblast headed by Governor Vadim Potomsky, BelTA has learned.

The parties commended the traditionally friendly Belarusian-Russian relations, the willingness to cooperate on the basis of equality, long-term partnership and mutual benefit.

Resident companies of free economic zone Mogilev to export more in 2016

MOGILEV, 15 March (BelTA) In 2016 resident companies of the free economic zone (FEZ) Mogilev intend to increase export by 5.3% from 2015 to $800 million. The information was released by Andrei Yartsev, head of the FEZ Mogilev administration, during the conference held on 15 March to discuss last years performance of the free economic zone and this years prospects, BelTA has learned.

Taking into account new economic conditions this year FEZ Mogilev resident companies will continue working to diversify target markets.

Belarus debuts at Foodex Japan in Tokyo

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) - Belarus made a debut at the international food and beverage tradeshow Foodex Japan 2016, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

The event has been organized by the biggest international exhibition center Makuhari Messe in Chiba-city. The exhibition has brought together 3,200 exhibitors from 78 countries. The opening ceremony was attended by Belarus First Agriculture and Food Deputy Minister Leonid Marinich.
