Belarus, Poland mull over wind farm in Zelva

MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) Belarus and Poland are mulling over the establishment of a wind farm in Zelva, Grodno Oblast, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told reporters before the Belarusian-Polish economic forum Good Neighborliness 2016 on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

Plans have been made to set up a wind farm in Zelva. The cost of the project is estimated at $3 million, Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

Belarus Mogilev Oblast, Latvia to explore new avenues for cooperation

MOGILEV, 18 October (BelTA) Belarus Mogilev Oblast and Latvia have plans to explore new cooperation avenues. A corresponding agreement was reached at the meeting between Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Belarus Martins Virsis on 18 October, BelTA has learned.

The parties noted that Mogilev Oblast and Latvia have great potential for advancing the mutually beneficial interaction.

Belarus Mogilev Oblast, Russias Oryol Oblast sign cooperation roadmap

MOSCOW, 27 September (BelTA) Governor of Belarus Mogilev Oblast Vladimir Domanevsky and Governor of Russias Oryol Oblast Vadim Potomsky have signed the 2016-2018 cooperation roadmap, BelTA learnt from the press service of the government of the Russian region.

The document envisages cooperation in trade, economy, investment, the agro-industrial sector, education, culture, the youth policy, and also in industry and construction.

Belarus set to partake in infrastructure projects in Pakistan's Punjab

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) Belarus is set to take part in the state programs for infrastructure development of Pakistans Punjab Province. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Pakistan Andrei Yermolovich and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarusian army to stage major command post exercise

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) The Belarusian army will carry out a command post exercise designed to practice control over a force group, other troops and military units in a special operation meant to stabilize the situation in several crisis areas of the country on 14-20 September, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

The exercise is part of the combat training schedule for the 2015/2016 academic year and will be supervised by the Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Almost 4% of votes cast on first day of early voting in Belarus

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) A total of 3.92% of voters came to the polls on the first day of early voting for the 2016 parliamentary elections in Belarus. The data was posted on the official website of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, BelTA informs.

2.71% of eligible voters took advantage of early voting in Brest Oblast, with 5%, 3.62% and 3.84% of early votes cast in Vitebsk, Gomel and Grodno Oblasts respectively.

Belarus guarantees most favorable conditions for Chinese companies

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) Belarus guarantees the most favorable business conditions for Chinese companies, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with the delegation of the Peoples Government of Hunan Province (China) led by Changsha Mayor Hu Henghua and Zoomlion President Zhan Chunxin on 29 August, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko cited the manufacture of pilot samples of construction and municipal equipment of the Chinese company Zoomlion using NAZ chassis as an example of productive cooperation.

New Apostolic Nuncio arrives in Belarus

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) - New Apostolic Nuncio (Ambassador of the Vatican) Gabor Pinter arrived in Belarus, BelTA informs with reference to the website of the Roman Catholic Church.

At the airport the Apostolic Nuncio was welcomed by all members of the Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Belarus headed by its Chairman, Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.

Gabor Pinter said that he is very happy to arrive in Belarus.

Russia invited to use Belarus as springboard for food export to West

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) Russia could use Belarus as a springboard for exporting agricultural products to the West. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy made the statement as he met with Governor of Russias Bryansk Oblast Alexander Bogomaz on 11 August, BelTA has learned.

Speaking about Belarus cooperation with Bryansk Oblast in agribusiness, Mikhail Rusy noted that the relevant guidelines had been sketched out.

Belarus harvests 3 million tonnes of grain

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) As of 1 August Belarus has harvested more than 3 million tonnes of grain crops, the Agriculture and Food Ministry informed.

Minsk Oblast is the leader with 821,700 tonnes of grain so far. Gomel Oblast has harvested 676,400 tonnes, Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast 622,900 tonnes and 411,200 tonnes of grain respectively. Mogilev Oblast has harvested 381,500. Vitebsk Oblast has cropped 171,500 tonnes.
