Kondrusiewicz: Awarding CCEE Plenary Assembly to Minsk is a sign of respect to Belarus

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) Hosting the annual Plenary Assembly of the Council of European Episcopal Conferences (CCEE) is a sign of respect to Belarus, reads an address by
Archbishop Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz published on the website of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The Archbishop, in particular, recalled that the Plenary Assembly to be held in Minsk from 28 September to 1 October is dedicated to young people and the future of the continent as a common home.

Minsk hosting Belarusian-Pomeranian economic forum

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) The 9th edition of the Belarusian-Pomeranian economic forum kicks off in Minsk on 14 September, BelTA learned from the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

The event will be held as part of the visit of a delegation of Pomorskie Province of Poland to Minsk Oblast. The forum will be preceded by a meeting of the Polish delegation with representatives of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

Belarus' harvest exceeds 7.5m tonnes of grain

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped more than 7.5 million tonnes of grain (including buckwheat and millet), BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 5 September, Belarus grain harvest exceeded 7.5 million tonnes. Minsk Oblast harvested 1,886.6 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 1.348 tonnes, Brest Oblast 1,231.4 tonnes. Mogilev Oblast and Gomel Oblast cropped 1,166.

Mogilev Oblast to host international conference on woodworking on 14-15 September

MOGILEV, 22 August (BelTA) An international science and practice conference on woodworking and the human impact on forest resources will take place in Mogilev Oblast on 14-15 September, representatives of the administration of the free economic zone (FEZ) Mogilev told BelTA.

The conference is expected to gather representatives of Belarusian and foreign woodworking companies, producers of furniture, wood boards, and other products from nine countries: Belarus, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey, Slovakia, Germany, and China.

Belarus harvests over 5m tonnes of grain

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped more than 5 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 14 August, Belarus grain harvest exceeded 5 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested 1,131.6 tonnes, Minsk Oblast 1,211.6 tonnes. Gomel Oblast and Grodno Oblast cropped 768,500 and 897,600 tonnes each. The harvest of Mogilev Oblast reached 654,900 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 407,900 tonnes.

Belarus harvests 2 million tonnes of grain

MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped over 2 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 6 August, Belarus grain harvest exceeded 2.1 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested 684,700 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 480,800 tonnes. Minsk Oblast and Mogilev Oblast cropped 427,400 and 185,900 tonnes each. The harvest of Grodno Oblast reached 356,300 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 54,100 tonnes.

Belarus harvests 1 million tonnes of grain

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have cropped the first million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 2 August, Belarus grain harvest exceeded 1 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested 399,600 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 318,900 tonnes. Minsk Oblast and Mogilev Oblast cropped 136,900 and 35,300 tonnes each. The harvest of Grodno Oblast agrarians reached 120,800 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 3,1600 tonnes.

Mass grain harvesting campaign begins in Belarus

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) A nationwide grain harvesting campaign has begun in Belarus, BelTA learned from representatives of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 28 July Belarusian farmers collected grain and leguminous crops from 120,900ha or 5.3% of the planned area. This years grain harvesting campaign began later than last years.

Southern regions of the country are in the lead, with Gomel Oblast reporting 19% of the planned area as harvested and Brest Oblast reporting 10%.

Free Wi-Fi available in testing mode at Belarus' railway stations

MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Railways and the Belarusian mobile carrier Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) launched free Wi-Fi service in testing mode at the Belarusian railway stations on 10 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian railway operator.

Wi-Fi hotspots have been set up in waiting areas and lobbies at the railway stations of Minsk, Orsha, Molodechno, Borisov, Baranovichi, Lida, Grodno, Luninets, Pinsk, Gomel, Zhlobin, Kalinkovichi, Mogilev, Osipovichi, Bobruisk, Krichev, Vitebsk, and Polotsk.

Mogilev to host Belarus-Russia regional forum in 2018

MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) The fifth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will be held in Mogilev next year, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said in an interview with the ONT TV channel on 3 July, BelTA has learned.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State considered changing the schedule of the Forum of Regions at the recent meeting in Moscow.
